RYDE DETECTIVES seek the public’s help to apprehend a gunman who stole cash from a licensed premises in Blaxland Road, Ryde last Tuesday.
Police allege the man entered the premises armed with a pistol around 2.15 am and threatened staff.
No staff members were injured but the gunman was handed a sum of cash before he fled into Edward Street.
Police from Ryde Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene and the offender has only been described as male and wearing dark clothing.
Ryde LAC Detective urge anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A SUSPECTED BURGLAR has been arrested in Epping.
Police allege the 38 year old male suspect from Harris Park knocked on several front doors in Angus Avenue in Epping around 5.30 pm last Thursday.
Residents in one of the houses on which the man has knocked called police and short time later a patrol located the man in a nearby street, seating in the gutter.
Attending police officers report the suspect appeared to be under the influence of a drug and a search located suspected stolen goods.
He was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station, where he was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for Goods in Personal Custody Suspected being Stolen.
He is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on February 6.
AN AGGRESSIVE North Parramatta woman has been arrested and charged with assault at Macquarie University on Friday.
The alleged assault is reported to have occurred around 1 pm when the 35 year old woman verbally abused a woman passenger in a car within a University car park.
The woman also caused a 15 centimetre scratch on the car door with a set of keys before the carÕs driver grabbed her arms in an attempt to stop her.
The woman broke free of his hold and scratched him several times on his arm.
Several witnesses saw what was happening and came over to help the driver before the woman walked away and was later found by police at the University.
She was arrested and issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for Common Assault and Damage Property.
Police have not confirmed the incident to be racially motivated.
A CANBERRA WOMAN with a warrant out for her arrest was captured by police in an alleged shoplifting incident at Top Ryde City Shopping Centre last week.
Police report the 28 year old woman entered a department store around 3 pm last Thursday and was seen by a store detective to place stolen items into a handbag she was carrying.
The woman left the store without paying for the items and was asked to return back inside.
A short time later police have arrived and located a number of clothing items belonging to the store within the handbag.
Police found a clear releasable bag containing Cannabis on the woman who was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station.
The woman was charged with the Shoplifting, Possess Prohibited Drug and the outstanding warrant and is due to appear at Goulburn Local Court on February 22.
