NSW Governor Guest Speaker at Hunters Hill Service




NSW Governor General David Hurley AC DSC was guest speaker at Hunters Hill Anzac Eve Memorial Service where he was greeted by a Scouts Guard of Honour on arrival at the Town Hall where he unveiled the restored memorial Cannon. TWT on-the-spot PHOTOS.

Huge crowd at Epping Dawn Service




Two thousand printed orders of service weren’t sufficient for the large attendance at Epping RSL Anzac Day Dawn Service in Forest Park with Anzac Address presented by Rev Ross Weaver of St Alban’s church Epping. Lions Club of Beecroft-Cheltenham second annual Anzac Day Service started with umbrellas up at 4.30pm but a rainbow signalled better to come when a plaque was unveiled at the new “100 Years of Anzac –The Spirit Lives” Memorial in Wongala Crescent by Beecroft MP Philip Ruddock and Felicity Finlay. Lions Club president Doreen Moore welcomed everybody, the address was given  by Epping RSL president John Curdie OAM and dedication by Rev John Wakefield. TWT on-the-spot PHOTOS.


Huge Turn out at North Ryde RSL Dawn Service






North Ryde RSL Memorial Park was overflowing with a record attendance at last Saturday’s Centenary Anzac Day Dawn Service which was preceded by the annual march from North Ryde oval. North Ryde RSL Ladies Auxiliary Raffle Results

You wouldn’t believe it, BUT… Ladies Auxiliary President Vera Webber was invited to draw out first prize from the barrel on stage on Anzac Day in the auditorium … and she drew out her own name!

One chance in a million!

But she then said she would donate it back and draw again. The final results are:

First Prize: large Bottle of Scotch Whisky – Kim Drury.

Second Prize: Basket Hamper – Malcolm Stewart.
