Ryde Public School celebrates its 150th birthday today with an Open Day and Art Show from 1pm in the school and grounds.

Assembly will be in the Quadrangle at 1pm with tour of the school classrooms to follow and viewing the archives in the Library with  refreshments available outside the Library.

The Art Show opens at 2.30pm with a P & C barbecue near the main hall followed by musical items by students at 3.30pm. A feature will be the ringing of the old school bell by the youngest current student and the
oldest former student present. 

Another highlight will be the Sesquicentenary Dinner this Friday August 17 at 7pm in the Grand Pittwater Room at North Ryde RSL Community Club.

Loosely Woven ‘Feeling Good’ Free Concert

Loosely Woven will present their second 2018 concert titled “Feeling Good” at Eastwood Uniting Church this Saturday August 18 at 7pm. The concert will feature 19 instrumentalists and singers including this time violins, flutes, trumpets, saxophone, harp, clarinet, cello, recorder, medlodica,
guitars, keyboard and percussion.

Songs will include San Francisco Bay Blues, The Last Thing on My Mind, Feeling Good, Walking on Sunshine, Chuck E’s in Love, He wants you, Hit the road Jack, I shall be released, Gimme that Swing, The Lord Giveth & the Landlord Taketh Away, Walking into doors and many more.

Ryde Arthritis Support Group

Ryde Arthritis Support Group speaker for Thursday August 23 will be Monica Kubizniak, Dietitian from BJC Healthcare who will be  accompanied by Tim Lee.

Following a great talk in 2017 members asked for Monica to do a follow up 
presentation.
