Edie Foster tribute

Local identity Edith ‘Edie’ Foster passed away recently at the grand old age of 99!

A regular and very popular customer at Chicho’s Cafe at Hunters Hill, Edie always looked immaculately groomed, had endless charm, and a wicked sense of humour.

During winter, Edie used to ‘park’ herself in the sun next to the florist, and ‘hold court’ with any or all who walked by.

A resident of Hunters Hill Lodge for the last 14 years, Edie was a true ‘local’.

Born in Drummoyne, Edie married Henry who was a Master Butcher in Balmain and they lived in Five Dock where they raised two daughters; Yvonne and Beverley.

Edie and Henry spent 35 years together in retirement, and when Edie was widowed, she used to help out charities at the Hunters Hill Lodge, knitting rugs, hats, jumpers, and was a regular at their outings.

Edie is also survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Sadly missed, but never forgotten.
