JB’s World: Another Moocooboola Success

MOOCOOBOOLA FESTIVAL on Sunday was another outstanding success with brilliant winter sunshine and two ovals at Boronia Park filled with a wide variety of stalls, entertainments and games for young and old.

And it was extra special for the locals who are celebrating their independence from the forced amalgamations of Councils by the belligerent Berejiklian State Government. How some local MPs were brazen enough to show their faces surprised many.

SHARON KING was a Queen for a year when in 1995 she was TWT Miss Eastwood Granny Smith Festival Queen and today heads This Week’s Birthday  Honours List celebrating a birthday today.

Kengo Matsumura our maths whizkid from Epping Boys High and earlier Truscott Street primary school and later Sydney Uni turns 22 today and will celebrate with  his lovely Mum Yuriko and friends.

Lawsen Wearne son and heir of Lynne and Bruce Wearne formerly of Michael’s Hair’M Top Ryde shopping centre and big brother of Morgen celebrates 28 years today same day as former mayor of Hunters Hill Ross Sheerin hubby of Julie and father of Tara.

George Stone former longtime chairman of Balmain Tigers rugby league club and ex Police inspector and Rozelle police Boys Club chief as well as a former student of Sydney Technical High School and KB classmate celebrates tomorrow at Marsfield’s Baptist retirement home.

David Hamley of West Ryde Hotel fame and as past president of West Ryde Chamber of Commerce and now a professional golf player (?) celebrates Friday with better half Robbie and son Nick and family and friends. Doris Percillier celebrates in the Black Forest of Germany with ihubby Jean and son Michael and family while Eduardo Quintero parties in Bogota Colombia.

Janette Howard better half of former Bennelong MP, TWT columnist and Prime Minister John Howard AO, OM celebrates Saturday same day as Graeme Castle faces 55 candles on his birthday cake while Bregitte Byrne and Arnaud Lami celebrate their first wedding anniversary in Paris a year aster their wedding at Balmoral in Sydney. Bregitte is the daughter of Sue Byrne who was the flower girl at the wedding of JB’s twin brother Dr Peter Booth and Margaret Barnier at St Phillip’s Church Eastwood some days ago.

Paul Wynn of local Rotary fame celebrates Sunday same day as Jean Drew of Epping and Jaynee  Hodge better  half of Barry Hodge and Ian Vair-Turnbull turning 61.

Mary Norris better half of Bernard Norris and resident at Dalton Gardens Ryde on Sunday will be rewarded with her OBE and will celebrate with her extended family of friends at Dalton Gardens.  Congratulations Mary from all at The Weekly Times.
