DAYLIGHT SAVING time actually starts this Sunday not last Sunday as I suggested last week.

The go-ahead for daylight saving time in NSW was “delayed” a week this year because of a relatively rare quirk in the calendar according to Attorney General and “Minister for Time” Mark Speakman.

He said most years the clocks go forward on the Sunday of the long weekend but every seven years on average daylight saving starts a week later. Hence this Sunday.

DAYLIGHT SAVING may be on the way out.  There is a move in Europe to end the messing with the clocks, watches and time pieces as they say it has worn out its usefulness. And I certainly agree.

The European Parliament has referred the matter to individual countries to come back for a united front so change seems almost certain to be on its way. Hooray!
