JB’s World: West Ryde will come alive on Saturday

WEST RYDE will come alive this Saturday when the 25th annual West Ryde Easter Parade & Fair will be celebrated in the streets and West Ryde Plaza from 9am while up the line in Eastwood the Harmony Cup Soccer Tournament will kick off at 8.30am with eight teams on Eastwood Oval and presentation at 1pm. All welcome.

A wake will follow at the Crows Nest Hotel for a proper send off for the Big Fella who was larger than life and at just 73 will be sadly missed by all especially his wife Alexandra and twins Natalie and Grant.

JB Goddaughter Rosalina Mary Landayan Menton celebrates Saturday at home in Bankstown while on holiday leave from her position as an English teacher in Shanghai China partying with parents Peter and Eleanor and friends same day as former TWT graphic artist David Clark and Pat Richards OAM.

Former Ryde Labor Councillor Nicole Campbell also celebrates Saturday same day as Brian McCallum hubby of Jackie Jackie Nuttall McCallum and son-in-law of June and Cec D’Arcy of Ermington.

JB’s cousin Kathy Norris Morton of Lake Albert near Wagga Wagga celebrates Sunday same day as Rose Rocca while Monday it’s the turn of JB Goddaughter Lesley Margaret Beaton Allen celebrating in Queensland and Jane Margaret Lovett daughter of Margaret and JB cousin Chris Lovett.

Marjorie and Walter Gaffney celebrate 63 years wedded bliss Monday while a happy Tigers fan Harue Bendall mum of former Balmain Tiger great Denis Bendall celebrates 89 golden years and JB cousin Pam Eakin Michie celebrates in Cootamundra.

Lillian Williamson will have to be Birthday Honours girl next week as she will be celebrating her centenary next Wednesday with greetings from The Queen and all thanks to our good friend Gerard.

Also celebrating a Big 0 next Wednesday is our Junie D’Arcy former TWT office manager and better half of Cec D’Arcy formerly of Grace Bros fame at Top Ryde in the good old days who will be joined by daughter Jackie Nuttall McCallum and hubby Brian.
