Joe Hockey puts Hunters Hill mansion up for sale

FORMER North Sydney MP and Federal Treasurer Joe Hockey has put his Hunters Hill mansion up for sale.

Mr Hockey and his wife Melissa Babbage bought the Federation mansion in 2004 for $3.5 million.

It is now on the market for around $8 million after being leased for short-term rental for around $4000 a week.

A 1400 square-metre estate and called ‘Te Roma’ , the mansion was built in 1906 and features four bedrooms, formal living a dining room, a sun room, an office, media rooms, a pool, a cabana and a spa.

It is being listed through realestate.com.au

The sale has led to speculation Mr Hockey, Australia’s ambassador to Washington, may permanently settle in the United States.
