Judging started in 2018 Northern Districts Local Business Awards

Entries have closed for the 2018 Northern Districts Local Business Awards and judging has commenced for the record number of businesses entered this year. There’s a perfectly logical reason why Northern Districts business people may have a slightly nervous edge to their smiles when new customers walk through their door because anonymous judges are visiting finalists.

The anonymous judges will look at all aspects of customer service, including greeting and customer acknowledgement, detailed product knowledge and value for money. They may also look at other aspects of the business, such as its website.

While finalists do not know who the judges are or when they will visit, they can submit information about themselves to be considered by the judges including: the history of the business, staff training and motivation, work in the local community and environmental sustainability efforts as well as customer testimonials.

In the meantime, finalists are also busy planning what to wear to the awards presentation evening, which includes a three-course meal and entertainment as well as the announcement of the category winners.

Precedent Productions managing director and Awards founder Steve Loe said the awards ceremony was something that finalists looked forward to attending each year.

“It’s a fun night, where business owners and their staff can dress up, relax and enjoy each other’s company while celebrating their success,” he said.

“Once again the awards ceremony will be held at The Epping Club.

“It’s a great venue, with superb catering and excellent service, so we’re thrilled to have them on board again as our venue.”

The awards presentation will be held on Wednesday 29th August.

“Tickets to the event are available and are expected to sell quickly,” Mr Loe said.

“The Northern Districts Local Business Awards is only possible with the unwavering support of major sponsors, City of Ryde council and support sponsors, The Epping Club, Lane Cove
Council, Hunter’s Hill Council and Riverside Business Chamber,” Mr Loe said.

“Their support of the Local Business Awards program reflects their ongoing commitment to local business in the area, and is essential in the running of the program.”

The Weekly Times is the 2018 Media Partner and co-sponsor of the 2018 Northern District Local Business Awards and will exclusively announce and publish the finalists next week.
