Nominations called for new club directors
Nominations have been called for new members to the board of Ryde Ex-Services Memorial and Community Club commonly called Club RydeX which is currently being administered by Mr Greg Russell as Administrator.
The previous board called in the Administrator when having financial difficulty and turmoil with the Club membership with a number of disenchanted members calling for their resignation.
Mr Russell has announced that nominations will open tomorrow Thursday April 2 and close two weeks later on Thursday April 16.
He says a ballot will be held soon after for election to a new board.
Members will be advised on the Club notice board and website with the ballot being held over a number of days.
He encourages interested persons to nominate with a board nomination information pack available at two Pre-Nomination Information Sessions being held tonight and tomorrow night from 5pm to 6pm.
Mr Russell says that former board members are eligible to stand again for election if they so desire. It will be up to the membership to decide their fate.
The Weekly Times believes that there will be sufficient interested persons prepared to nominate to fill all the necessary positions on a new board.
Leading the drive for a new board is former Club director and treasurer Tony Bonvino who has been a leader of the dissident members opposed to the previous board.
He has already indicated he will nominate for the new board and is seeking support from a wide range of interested members who he believes will be capable of getting the club back on to a level footing and trading profitably.
In the meantime it is essential that all Club members patronise the club to get it back on track for a brighter future.
