Merrier Christmas for Tigers 2018!
Tigers fans and supporters can have a Very Merry Christmas as they look forward to a much happier and Gggrrreat New Year 2018.
All this renewed optimism and hope is thanks to Tigers new supercoach and friend of Santa Claus Ivan Cleary.
Since the arrival of Ivan on the scene the atmosphere and future has done a U-turn for the better!
From the ruins of board and club mismanagement over recent years Ivan has almost singlehandedly resurrected the club to assemble a team for premiership honours in 2018 and the years ahead.
We reckon if Ivan had come a little earlier we would’ve still had Teddy, Woodsie and Mitch Moses with us.
However we now have a most impressive line-up in training comprising not so much a team of champions but a potential champion team.
Some say forwards win matches and next season we have a veritable goldmine of pigs for the first time in ages including props Russell Packer, Ben Matulino, Tim Grant, Alec Twal and JJ Felise with hookers Jacob Liddle and Matt McIlwrick.
They will be supported by second rowers Chris Lawrence, Chris McQueen, Josh Aloiai and Robbie Rochow with a choice of top locks Elijah Taylor, Sauaso Sue and Matt Eisenhuth.
Balmain Tigers bred Luke Brooks will have Pita Godinet as a back up at half back with a goldmine of talent at Five Eighth with Josh Reynolds, Tyson Gamble and importantly favourite son Benji Marshall feeding the centres and wingers David Nofoaluma, Malakai Watene-Zelszniak, Mahe Fonua, Corey Thompson, Kevin Naiqama, Moes Suli, Michael Chee-Kam, Taane Milne and Esan Marsters with prospective superstar Tuhi Lolohea at fullback.
Can hardly wait to see them perform on the paddock. See ya there.
Santa’s helper and Tigers new supercoach Ivan Cleary is the best Christmas gift for long suffering Tigers fans and supporters.
