HOLY CROSS Rhinos junior rugby league teams will train under new floodlights thanks to a NSW Government grant and support from Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club.

Lane Cove MP, Anthony Roberts, was at the Rhinos college playing ground – Frank Street Oval – on Monday to present a Community Building Partnership grant of $30,000 as part of the $190,000 floodlight project.

“I played football on this same field years ago and I’m delighted to give this grant,” he said.

Rhinos Vice President Brad Wilson thanked Mr Roberts for the grant which he said will enable teams to train under floodlights.

“We have 250 players who will be able to train here at night and raising this further $30,000 would have been very difficult for us,” he said.

“I especially acknowledge the support we have from the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club and from other strong supporters in our community.

“We hope to have the lights switched on later next month.”
