RYDE’S Armenian-speaking community held a pro-democracy rally at West Ryde’s community hall on Monday night.

The rally follows massive pro-democracy demonstrations in the Armenian capital Yerevan in recent weeks in the wake of the resignation of prime minister Serzh Sarkisian.

Ryde’s Armenians have expressed support from pro-democracy leader Nikol Pashinyan and an end to political corruption and an unequal distribution of wealth in the former Soviet backed country.

Monday night’s event also saw a debate by a panel of six experts moderated by City of Ryde Clr Sarkis Yedelian OAM.
